Read Your Heart Out
I love a fresh pile of library books! There's nothing quite like the exploration they allow on a somewhat grey winter's day. Each time I pull into my public library's parking lot, I am flush with anticipation as to what gems lie within the shelves this week.
The one about Kennedy intrigued me right away, having just recently visited the Sixth Floor Museum in Dallas. It is the one located within the infamous book depository by Dealey Plaza, from which Oswald took those fateful shots. It posits that the Warren Commission was a white wash and there was more than one shooter involved.
I have to say, given the information available at the museum, there is huge scope to consider other versions of the event that differ from the official version. Missing bullet fragments, Jack Ruby coincidentally showing up at the ER when Kennedy was brought in, and again gaining access to enable his murder of Oswald before a trial could be held. This guy got around!
Did Kennedy's death ensure we enter the Vietnam War? Was Johnson a willing cohort in an assassination bid? All very interesting stuff and a great way to while away an afternoon or two.
So get thee to a library and pick up a good read, armchair travel at its best! :)
